What is HBOT?
In this therapy, you breathe in pure oxygen at high atmospheric pressure in an enclosed chamber. The aim is to fill the whole blood with enough oxygen to repair and restore normal body functions.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a type of treatment which can be used to speed up the healing of psychological disorder, bell’s palsy, autism, cerebral palsy, reducing inflammation, traumatic brain injury (TBI), athletic recovery, cell regeneration, wounds healing, gangrene, and infections in which tissues are starved for oxygen.
How does it work ?
1.Increased oxygen absorption: At high atmospheric pressure, it helps to increase the absorption of oxygen into the lungs, which dissolves directly into the bloodstream and enhances oxygen levels in plasma. This elevated oxygen level in the plasma reaches the cells and tissues with poor circulation, aiding in healing.
2.Enhanced Cellular functions: Higher levels of oxygen in the cells stimulate the production of ROS( reactive oxygen species) and RNS ( Reactive Nitrogen Species), which act as a signalling molecules and activate different pathways that promote release of some growth factors like Vascular Endothelial growth factors ( VEGF), Platelet derived growth factor (PDGF), Brain derived Neurotrophic factor (BDNF) etc…, aiding in tissue repair and regeneration.
3.Anti-Inflammatory Effects: It reduces inflammation by modulating inflammatory pathways (like cytokines production, NF-kB Signaling pathways etc) and constricting blood vessels, leading to decreased swelling and pain.
4.Anti-microbial action: It enhances ROS production, which improves the bactericidal capacity of neutrophils, enabling more efficient pathogen elimination. This therapy improves the ability of white blood cells to find and destroy invaders.
Benefits
1.Enhances cellular oxygenation
2.Reduces inflammation and improves brain fog
3.Acute or traumatic reduced blood flow in the arteries
4.Diabetic wounds that are not healing correctly
5.Reduces anxiety and depression
6.Improves brain injury
7.Air or gas bubble trapped in a blood vessel (gas embolism)
8.Delayed radiation injury
9.Decompression sickness
10.Gas gangrene
Benefits:
Wellness & Performance Enhancement:
Immune system modulation
;Anti-aging and skin rejuvenation
Chronic fatigue and burnout
Cognitive enhancement
Athletic recovery and endurance
Inflammation and oxidative stress reduction
Medical & Therapeutic Uses:
Chronic non-healing wounds
Radiation tissue damage
Carbon monoxide poisoning
Post-surgical recovery
Diabetic foot ulcers
Traumatic brain injuries
Stroke recovery
What will happen to you while you are inside the chamber?
You will relax, lie comfortably in the closed chamber. Depending on your condition, the session can last from 45 minutes to 300 minutes.
Your ears might feel blocked due to the high pressure, like you are in an airplane, at a high altitude in the mountains, or under the sea. This will resolve itself by moving your jaws, swallowing, or engulfing the saliva.
A subsequent session of HBOT is needed to enhance the healing process, depending on the conditions.
Is HBOT Safe?
When administered by qualified personnel, HBOT is a very safe and well-tolerated therapy. Mild side effects like ear pressure (similar to airplane travel) may occur in some individuals, but these are temporary and manageable
Please consult the physicians before taking the HBOT sessions.
